half-dozen. "Trip Effectually the Sun" by Kenny Chesney

A deep, philosophical song this is certainly NOT. This 2016 country ditty gives a wink and a nod to global warming and all the serious things going on in the world. Then it celebrates the fact that everybody in the bar has made it through another trip around the sun (that'due south a fancy manner of saying they've lived another yr):

We're all swimmin' in a fish bowl, only floatin' through the sky,
Pulled forth by gravity and nobody knows why.

7. "Sunshine Song" past Jason Mraz

The narrator in this 2009 pop song is a smidge jealous that the sun seems to shine brighter on other people's lives, while he suffers gray clouds. (Hey, buddy, that's how it works sometimes!)

Tired of having rainy weather in his life, he urges those with an abundance of sunshine in their lives to throw a picayune his way. Maybe they tin can combine forces, he suggests, and brand big things happen:

Oh, if this little lite of mine

In this pop song from 2011, the protagonist provides loving reassurance to a friend that the difficulties they are experiencing in their life right now won't break them. It but feels like that correct now. There will come a day when the sunday will rise, and everything volition be alright again.

The narrator in this rock vocal from 2002 finds himself living in a dark place, struggling against the earth, and trying to make sense of his life. Who knows whether it'due south low, addiction, or falling away from God that is his obstacle? The sun provides a buoy of promise and light for him and a fashion out of his dark abyss.

Some people merits that the vocal uses "sun" as a double entendre for "Son." They reference John 8:12, wherein Jesus says, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but volition take the light of life."

fourteen. "Sunrise" by Norah Jones

This smoothen jazz-infused number from 2004 won a Grammy for good reason. Two lovers spend all morning cocooned in bed, and the day gradually transitions to an afternoon of the same. The sunshine is the simply indication that an exterior world exists beyond the i they've created together. When evening time arrives, they are still wrapped up in the covers of their own little world.

With a crummy task and a laidback attitude, the woman in this 2002 stone vocal tin't beget much in the fashion of material things. That's okay. She's however rocking the proficient life. She looks up to the sun and soaks it up because it'due south free and decides to appreciate what she has in life:

It'southward not having what yous want
Information technology'southward wanting what y'all've got.

Questions & Answers

Question: Many years ago in church building we sang a hymn that contained the lyrics, "a piffling flake of sunshine in the rain." I have searched for the music for this song for a very long fourth dimension, but cannot find anything. Tin you lot please help me with this?

At that place is a hymn, however, chosen "Sunshine In The Mount" that The Carter Family (a folk group) and others have sung:

When our hearts are bound in sorrow

And it seems all assistance is gone

Jesus whispers do not stammer

I will leave you not lone

And then somehow amid my trials

How information technology is I cannot come across

Then I hear a vocalism from sky

Gently saying follow me

There is sunshine in the shadows

In that location is sunshine in the rain

In that location is sunshine in our sorrows

And our hearts are filled with pain

There is sunshine when we're burdened

In that location is sunshine when we pray

There is sunshine heavenly sunshine

Blessed sunshine all the way

Sometimes my friends abdicate me

And I'1000 tempted to despair

Then I think of my dear savior

To lay his head His head nowhere

Oh, information technology pays to follow Jesus

Simply to learn of him each mean solar day

And I'll guarantee you, my brothers

You'll take sunshine all the way

There is sunshine in the shadows

There is sunshine in the rain

In that location is sunshine in our sorrows

And our hearts are filled with pain

There is sunshine when we're encumbered

There is sunshine when we pray

There is sunshine heavenly sunshine

Blessed sunshine all the way.
